Jo-Ann Mort ‘s first book of poems, published at age of 69, is A Precise Chaos (Arrowsmith Press). Her poems have been published widely in the US and the UK. She is also a journalist, specializing in Israel/Palestine, progressive politics, and global democracy. Through the decades, she has been a political activist, working in the trade union movement, advising NGOs in the US and abroad, and working with philanthropies. She is on the steering committee of Writers for Democratic Action. A 1978 graduate of Sarah Lawrence, Jo-Ann lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
